Mervyn Hurwitz, D.D.S.

Dr Hurwitz is a graduate of the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa. He worked in dental offices in London, England and Johannesburg, South Africa before moving to Florida in 1990.

Dr Hurwitz has always been interested in cosmetic dentistry and has studied with the top cosmetic dentists in America. He is dedicated to providing the best that dentistry has to offer, and is continually educating himself in the latest techniques to provide you with the most advanced state of the art personalized dental care.

Dr Hurwitz prides himself in listening to the needs of his patients. He has a calm, relaxed manner, which helps to create a stress free environment in the dental office. His philosophy to provide Health and Beauty with a Gentle Touch is evident by the degree of excellence that he achieves.

He has also completed courses in conscious sedation, endodontics, cosmetic dentistry, smile design including porcelain veneers, crowns and bridges, implants and periodontal therapy. He is a member of American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, Atlantic Coast Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry and Alpha Omega Fraternity.

In his spare time Mervyn and Melanie enjoy wildlife and photography as is evident by the many beautiful photographs which adorn the office. They are both active members in local camera clubs and Mervyn is past president of the Everglades Chapter of the Photographic Society of America. They have 2 married daughters and 3 beautiful grandchildren.

Our Staff
Melanie - Receptionist You will hear Melanie's voice when you call the office, and she will greet you when you visit us. She is our front office person. She has been involved in dentistry for many years and is knowledgeable on most aspects of dentistry. Melanie was born in South Africa and has been happily living in Florida since 1990. She delights in spending time with her three grandchildren, enjoys playing bridge and has a passion for photography.
Maria  - Dental Assistant Maria was born in Long Island, NY and has been in Florida since 1985. She has worked as a dental assistant for 17 years, and the last 5 years in our office. She and her husband Louis have 2 married children and 2 grandchildren. She enjoys her work and family and loves helping people of all ages.
Claudia, R.D.H. - Hygienist Claudia is originally from upstate NY but has resided in South Florida for most of her life. She is a graduate of Miami-Dade Dental Hygiene School and has been in the practice for many years. Claudia and her husband Vincent have 1 daughter Nicole who attends Cardinal Gibbons Catholic High School. As a family they enjoy camping, sailing and visiting the family farm in Oswego, NY. Claudia loves people and encourages two way dialogue with all her patients. She is a great listener.
Dionne, R.D.H. - Hygienist Dionne was born in Jamaica and has lived in Florida for the past twenty-five years. She is married with 2 children. Dionne worked in private practice as a dental assistant for 10 years. She then went back to school and is a graduate of Miami-Dade Community College where she received her A.S. degree in Dental Hygiene. Dionne is well liked by her patients who appreciate her friendly personality and gentle touch.
